Allowing Your Helper to Transfer to a New Employer
If your helper's contract is ending, or your family no longer needs her, you can let her look for a new employer through We Are Caring. You sign a free online consent, we introduce her to families for interviews, and once she is hired we confirm the transfer date and handle the paperwork. It costs nothing, for you or for her.
Three steps
- Sign the consent online. Give your helper's details, her current salary (shown on her profile), the reason for the transfer and whether the date is flexible, plus any feedback on her work. You receive a copy by email.
- She gets interviews. We introduce her to families looking for a helper, free of charge for both of you.
- It's a match. Once a family hires her, we confirm the transfer date with you and handle all the paperwork.
Who pays?
Nobody on your side. We Are Caring charges no placement fee and makes no salary deduction for helpers, and nothing to the current employer. Our service fee is paid by the family that hires her.
What helpers say
"…they the one who assist me and gave full support until I found a new family, they are kept checking if I am okay!" (Joy H., helper)
If she needs a place to stay
If your helper needs somewhere to stay between employers, we offer temporary lodging. Temporary lodging for helpers
FAQ
Is it really free to let my helper transfer through We Are Caring?
Yes. It is free for you and for your helper. The family that hires her pays our service fee.
What information do I need to give?
Your helper's full name, FIN and phone number; your own name, email and phone; her current salary, which is shown on her profile; the reason for the transfer and whether the date is flexible; and, if you wish, your feedback on her work. You receive a copy of the consent by email.
Am I still responsible for my helper until she transfers?
Yes. Until her work permit is transferred to her new employer or cancelled, you remain her legally responsible employer, including while she stays in our temporary lodging. We Are Caring confirms this to you in writing, as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) requires of employment agencies.
When does her current work permit end?
Her current work permit stays valid until the transfer date agreed with the new employer. On that date we issue the new permit, which automatically cancels the one under your name.
Can she stay with us until she finds a new employer?
Yes. Your helper continues to work for you as usual until the transfer date. If you need a place for her to stay, We Are Caring offers temporary lodging.
