Renewing Your Helper's Work Permit in Singapore
Your helper's work permit must be renewed with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) before it expires, and We Are Caring can handle the renewal for you. That covers a new employment contract and safety agreement, the renewal with the Ministry, and a new maid insurance policy, all signed online. You can renew with us even if we did not hire your helper.
What we do for you
- Check her eligibility and the timing of the renewal, before her permit expires.
- Prepare a new employment contract and safety agreement, which you and your helper sign online.
- Arrange a new maid insurance policy for the new period, including the security bond guarantee.
- Submit the renewal to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
- Stay with you for the next period, with the same support as for a new hire.
Renewing when we did not hire her
You can renew with We Are Caring even if another agency, or no agency, handled the original hiring. We take over from here, and your helper still pays nothing.
Two years, or one
A renewed work permit runs for two years by default. If your family expects to relocate abroad within the next year, you can choose a one-year renewal instead, with maid insurance valid for one year. Your consultant explains both options.
Start six weeks before her permit expires, so there is time for the new contract, insurance and approval.

Can you renew my helper's work permit if you did not hire her?
Yes. We Are Caring renews work permits for helpers hired through any agency, or through none.
How long is a renewed work permit valid?
Two years by default, or one year if you choose one-year maid insurance, for example because your family plans to relocate abroad within the year.
Do I need a new insurance policy?
Yes. A new maid insurance policy covers the new period, including the security bond guarantee. We arrange it for you.
Does my helper pay anything for the renewal?
No. As with every hire, helpers pay nothing to We Are Caring.
