Hiring a Helper from Overseas: the Philippines, Indonesia and More
Hiring a helper who is still in her home country takes 3 to 4 weeks of processing through We Are Caring for the Philippines or Indonesia, and 1 to 3 weeks for other countries, once you have chosen her. You interview her by video call. We coordinate her documents, her medical check-up and her arrival with our partner agencies abroad. Many are not new to Singapore: 65% of the helpers we hired from abroad had worked here before.

How hiring from overseas works
- Choose her in the Hire Helper app, or with a VIP shortlist, and interview her by video call.
- We prepare her documents with our partner agency and her embassy, and apply for her work permit with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
- She has her medical check-up before travelling, and a pre-deployment check-up on arrival in Singapore.
- Her flight to Singapore is booked and paid by you as the employer.
- First job in Singapore? She attends the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Settling-In Programme; we enrol her and take her there.
Helpers from abroad pay nothing either

How long does it take to hire a helper from the Philippines or Indonesia?
Once you have chosen her, We Are Caring's processing takes 3 to 4 weeks from the Philippines or Indonesia, and 1 to 3 weeks from other countries.
Who pays for her flight to Singapore?
The employer books and pays her one-way flight to Singapore. It is not included in our fees because the fare depends on her route and date.
Can I interview a helper who is abroad?
Yes, by video call, or by chat and calls in the Hire Helper app.
Is a helper hired from abroad always a first-timer?
No. 65% of the helpers We Are Caring hired from abroad had worked in Singapore before.
Does she pay anything to your partner agency abroad?
No. Our partner agencies abroad charge the helper nothing: their fee is paid by We Are Caring and shown at cost on our costs page. Helpers placed by We Are Caring pay no placement fee and have no salary deduction, in Singapore or in their home country.
